ABOUT

CREATOR, ENTREPRENEUR, ACTIVIST, TRAVELER, DISRUPTOR.

My design journey began in architecture and industrial design at the University of Miami and the University of Southern California, before gaining an art history degree at the University of Seville, Spain. However, it was the experiences under my grandmother’s sewing machine as a child that led me to formalize my fashion studies with a Bachelors from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and a Masters at Polimoda, Europe’s most renowned fashion institute.

In the mid 2000’s, I began my design career with an eponymous clothing line.  For the last decade, my interdisciplinary studies allowed me to consult within the worlds of architecture, hospitality, and real estate development, in the US, Caribbean, and Brazil.

My observations within the living and built world impacted my perception opening my eyes to the interconnectivity between the natural and the material. I grew up thinking that the industrial world and Mother Earth were detached. Upon educating myself on sustainable development, it became evident that design should resolve our problems rather than create them. My dedication to sustainable systems has lead me to advise the UN fashion climate dialogue for the Paris agreement as well as talks and workshops the world over focused on using regenerative and cultural preservation to create sustainable systems.

In 2015, the fashion system evolved through technology and accessibility, allowing me to create a company with a purpose under the moniker, Nomadic Collector, a luxury brand of bags and luggage in Costa Rica, who’s singular conditions give us a global advantage on sustainability.
